About Anne

Hi! My name is Anne!

I was not always a farm girl. While I did grow up in a farming community, and visited my grandparents farm almost weekly, I also lived in town, took dance lessons, and didn't really care to play in the dirt. It wasn't until I was about to enter high school that my father decided he wanted to diversify our income by purchasing two heifers of our own. Fast forward to now, those two cows have turned into a hundred, our house is no longer in town but in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields and pasture, and my classmates refer to me as a buff country girl. Throughout this fast-paced journey my lifestyle changed just a bit. Instead of just catching up on homework, I now spend my weekends helping work cattle and I get excited when I find some Carhartt work gear at the thrift store, things that none of my friends are familiar with, making the adjustment just a little lonely. That's why I started FarmGirlTalk, I wanted to create a community to help women navigate what I've found to be the difficult balance between being a hard worker on the farm while also getting to be a what I consider to be a 'normal' girl. I want to bring you all with me as I get more involved in working on the farm, finish out my college years, and enjoy looking cute and hanging out with friends who don't know how to drive a tractor.
